Where does the information come from?
From Statens vegvesen. We retrieve status about once a minute and show it with a timestamp. Tunnel names, lengths and years come from the National Road Database.
Why does it say unknown on some tunnels?
Because we have no confirmed status. We show unknown rather than assume the tunnel is open. The absence of a closure message is not proof of an open tunnel.
Can I trust the answer?
We show what Statens vegvesen publishes, verbatim and without interpreting it. If the source is wrong, we are wrong. Where signage disagrees, follow the signage and official channels.
What about heavy vehicles?
Some tunnels carry a separate status for heavy vehicles. When it differs from the general status, we show it just below the verdict at the top.
