The Rv658 runs 4.2 kilometres in tunnel between Ellingsøya and Valderøya in Møre og Romsdal. It is the second part of the link that gave Ålesund a ferry-free road to the islands out towards the sea.

The tunnel opened together with the Ellingsøy tunnel on 20 October 1987, by King Olav, and was among the first undersea road tunnels in the country. It reaches 137 metres below sea level, and the steepest gradient is 8.5 percent.

From Valderøya the road continues over bridges to Giske and the airport on Vigra. Godøya joined later, with its own tunnel from Giske. The link has no alternative road, so check the status before heading to the airport or further out.
